omd - History of modern tour photobook

After a break of 24 years, the ‘classic’ Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark lineup of Andy McCluskey, Paul Humphreys, Malcolm Holmes and Martin Cooper reformed in 2006. A hugely successful Architecture and Morality tour was followed by a short tour in 2008 and then a number of European orchestral collaborations in 2009 including a concert with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.  November and December of 2009 saw the band on an arena tour with Simple Minds; at the same time we were treated to a taster of the new OMD material when a demo of Sister Marie Says was released for download.

September 2010 arrived - and with it came History of Modern, OMD’s first studio album for fourteen years. The album fused the unmistakeable OMD sound with modern production values and was met with wide critical acclaim.

The History of Modern European tour took in 19 dates, starting at the Brighton Dome on 29th October, and saw tracks from the new album becoming instant favourites alongside the old classics. And for the first time, an OMD tour of a new album was captured on thousands of digital cameras. The tour photobook contains a sample of the many thousands of photos that were taken by fans during the tour. Huge thanks are due to those fans whose photos are included in the book:
